Ko Phi Phi Don ‘The Phi Phi Islands’
After we saw Maya Bay and a small stop on Phi Phi Don, we decided we needed a few days there as it was a beautiful place and it had to be seen!
Just like Phuket, I still found it hard to believe that this beautiful island was destroyed in the 2004 Tsunami. Looking at photos after the disaster is so surreal. It is incredible how they have rebuilt this whole island, with some of it still in the process!
With lots of time relaxing on the beach and looking round the markets I had lots of alone time. I love being on my own far too much. With my anxiety kicking in these last few days, it really helped me. I ALSO FOUND FALAFEL! I have been in desperate need for some filling vegetarian food for a month now and I was so happy I was able to find a falafel pitta packed with salad, hummus and so much falafel for just 80baht. I sat and ate it on the beach and watched the sunset. I’ll admit I got a bit emotional. Sometimes I just can’t believe how lucky I am to be seeing such beautiful things. This planet is an incredible place and nature is one of the most fascinating things.
On our last full day in Phi Phi, we climbed the view point! It hand to be done, and lots of generic photos were taken! Exploring further, we went upto the third viewpoint! If anything, it was better than the others! There was nobody else there and I ordered a Pad Thai from a small cafe and it was the best Pad Thai I have had! Lunch with a view – perfect!
I can’t wait to visit Ko Phi Phi Don again next year with Mike! I hate visiting amazing places without him! He loves a good view so much so I can’t wait for him to see this amazing island with his own eyes!
